    Job Description

    As a Group Leader you will be supervising 8-30 UAW employees through the assembly process for cylinder heads and engine blocks from creation to completion. You will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes, managing production bottlenecks, and ensuring the efficient operation of the assembly line. This role involves conducting quality checks, managing constraints, overseeing preventative maintenance, and leading the team in safety and operational meetings. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, safety-focused, and capable of troubleshooting production challenges.

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the production process is consistently creating products that meet or exceed quality standards.

     

    Monitor the flow of parts through the production line and identify bottlenecks or constraints.

     

    Assess how many parts are going into and coming out of the constrained processes, ensuring smooth and continuous flow.

     

    Collaborate with the team to mitigate constraints and improve throughput efficiency.

     

    Provide detailed end-of-shift reports, summarizing production metrics, quality issues, and any operational concerns.

     

    Administer or oversee preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of production equipment and reduce downtime.

     

    Lead or assist with scheduling and executing preventative maintenance activities on production equipment.

     

    Lead daily or weekly team meetings to review production goals, safety updates, and operational concerns.

     

    Champion safety practices within the team, ensuring that all workers are following company protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.

     

    Provide training, guidance, and support to the production team as needed to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment

    Shift: Flexible

    Compensation:

    $35/hr to $40/hr

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    2+ years experience as a production supervisor in automotive

     

    Experience supervising UAW employees

     

    Understanding of quality control principles, production processes, and preventative maintenance

     

    Familiar with the full cycle assembly process for engine components (cylinder heads & engine blocks)

     

    Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a team and communicate with cross-functional departments Bachelors Degree in Automotive or related field

     

    Experience working for an Automotive OEM

    Previous GM experience null
