    Overview

     

    We are seeking aSpeech Language Pathologist (SLP), internally referred to as our Speech Therapist or Speech-Language Therapist . As our Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), you are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

    Employment Type:per diem/PRN

     

    Hours:8 hour shift

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    + provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting

    + the candidate who fills this position will provide coverage for hospital inpatients in the acute care setting

    + responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician

    + 90%-95% of our referral are swallow related; we do some cognitive/speech evaluations and treatment as well

    + assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department

    + if working weekends, the weekend shift is an on-call shift on Saturday 8:00a - 9:00a with call-back pay if called in

    Qualifications

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

     

    + graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in Speech Therapy

    + licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology

    + current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current

    Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

    + MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred

    + one year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting, preferred

    + one year of experience in acute care, preferred
