    A **CMM Operator** (Coordinate Measuring Machine Operator) is a skilled professional responsible for operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to measure the dimensions and geometries of various mechanical parts, components, and materials. Here are some key aspects of the role:

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + **Machine Operation:** Operate CMM equipment to perform precise measurements, inspections, and testing of production materials and components.

    + **Programming:** Program CMM to measure parts and components according to design specifications using specialized software.

    + **Inspection:** Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.

    + **Documentation:** Document and report non-conforming materials and discrepancies.

    + **Maintenance:** Conduct routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment.

    + **Collaboration:** Work closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to resolve quality issues.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    + **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in CMM programming and use of relevant software applications.

    + **Experience:** Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of related experience.

    + **Analytical Skills:** Ability to interpret blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols.

    + **Communication:** Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.
