Amazon is seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to join the Transfer Pricing accounting team based at its Seattle headquarters to focus on supporting Amazon’s U.S. and international transfer pricing transactions. This role requires proficiency in the analysis of system requirements, solution design and ongoing maintenance of a proprietary Transfer Pricing application as well as operational accounting knowledge. As a Senior Systems Accountant, you will identify, design, and deploy technology and process solutions that enable strategic initiatives and operational improvements. In addition to delivering new automation and enhancing/supporting existing systems, an effective candidate will be expected to contribute relevant technical, functional, and process expertise, negotiate and drive alignment for all financial systems projects and initiatives which impact our accounting close.

Key job responsibilities

We are currently looking for candidates who have held similar positions in large public companies or who have held functional lead level positions with a consulting firm serving Fortune 500 clients for 2 or more years. Successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of 3+ years of professional experience. Demonstrated experience in providing leadership to accomplish complex challenges will be expected as this is an ongoing requirement for this position.

A day in the life

Ongoing maintenance and monitoring of Transfer Pricing Accounting system

Automation of manual transfer pricing calculations

Collaboration with technical team to resolve system issues and improve system performance

Spearhead testing process of system fix and enhancement

Collaboration with accounting, tax and technical team to design new system

Training Transfer Pricing Accounting system to team members

Prioritization of on-boarding, maintenance and system enhancement

Operationalizing and recording transfer pricing transactions in the GL

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of relevant consulting (system implementation, upgrades enhancement, support) or industry experience

- Exposure to operational accounting concepts of intercompany and transfer pricing

- A demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex operational and reporting challenges

- Experience in project management

- Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology

- Detail oriented and analytical mindset

- Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills

- High standards for delivery and success

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
