    BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the local SSG Branch Manager or Supervisor, provide the necessary support to our sales reps and customers through the sourcing and procurement of MRO items not carried as part of our normal product line. In addition, provide support to, Marketing and Global Supply Chain Managers, when required, in the development and marketing of product programs and promotions.

    DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Individual will process approximately 50-75 lines quoted per day

    • 25- 50% of the day will be spent on the telephone dealing with suppliers and field sales reps

    • Process quotes and bids, sales orders and PO’s in support of approximately $1,000,000 in annual sales volume

    • Participate with marketing and Supply Chain managers in vendor development, product marketing and promotion programs.

    • Process orders and requests for quotes from the sales force for non-stock MRO type items

    • Process bids as deemed necessary by management

    • Work with suppliers to ensure that product pricing and service level commitments are met

    • Maintain open communication with the sales force on the status of orders

    • Load vendor cost and cross-reference information to the electronic catalog and AS400

    • Resolve Accounts Payables discrepancies between PO costs and vendor invoices

    • Assist with the establishment of a supply base to meet the requirements of the customers served

    • Work in the field with the sales force and customers on an occasional basis

    • Attend City Meeting with the sales force when required by management

    • Provide input to and work directly with Marketing and Supply Chain Managers and vendors in the development and marketing of product programs, line expansions and promotions, on an as required basis.

    • Drives the MSC Culture throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

    • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: Specialist, Procurement (Cont’d)

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

    • Three to five years’ experience in purchasing MRO type products

    SKILLS:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

    • Proficiency in using spreadsheet and word processing software (MS Office Suite) required

    • Must be a self-starter who is capable of working in a fast paced, unsupervised environment

    • Must have a good understanding of basic math skills to work with product cost and pricing issues

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).

     

    Compensation starting at $50,000– $78,980 / year dependent on candidate location and experience.

     

    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
