Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. You will play a key part in helping the company align with their data strategy, driving optimization, reliability, and robust business intelligence capabilities across the organization. This position is ideal for data professionals seeking to have influence and who wish to apply their technical expertise in a collaborative, data-driven organization focused on innovation and growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience working with Snowflake Data Warehouses and Data Lakes, SQL Server, SSIS, and Power BI.

This is a hybrid role, 2 days a week working from home.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SQL Server and Snowflake Data Warehouses and Data Lakes with a focus on data governance, security, and performance optimization.

• Manage and optimize database solutions within Snowflake, SQL Server, MySQL, and AWS RDS environments.

• Build and optimize ETL pipeline processes using Snowpipe, DBT, Boomi, SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory.

• Proficiency in Data Tools such as SSMS, Profiler, Query Store, Redgate, etc.

• Perform light operational tasks, including database backup & restore.

• Collaborate and support organizational data development projects, working closely with the Business Intelligence and Business Analysts Teams.

• Help ensure and maintain database security, integrity, and compliance following the industry’s best practices.

• Configure and manage data integration platforms and business intelligence tools, ideally including Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, and scripting languages like Python or R.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Sciences, or equivalent experience (Master’s Degree preferred)

• At least 7 years of hands-on experience working as Microsoft SQL Server Developer or Administrator, with hands-on experience developing relational and object-oriented databases.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with Snowflake data warehouses and data lake environments.

• Proven mastery of Microsoft SQL Server, including t-SQL.

• Hands-on experience developing databases, pipelines, and reporting solutions using BI Reporting & ETL tools such as Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, DBT and other similar industry tool sets.

• Proficiency with scripting and automation, including Python, PowerShell; or R.

• Experience with, and knowledge of, data integration and analytic tools such as Boomi, Redshift, or Databricks is desirable.
