Description We are looking for an experienced VP/Director of Finance to join our healthcare organization in Aurora, Illinois. This is a Contract position, ideal for someone with a strong background in financial management and strategic planning. The role involves overseeing critical accounting functions, advising leadership on financial matters, and ensuring compliance with healthcare reimbursement and funding processes.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the development and management of an accrual accounting system, including accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Supervise the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead and manage Call Center and Registration Services operations for optimal efficiency.
• Direct and oversee accounts receivable processes, reporting systems, and funding applications.
• Prepare and analyze annual budgets, monthly cost reports, forecasts, and financial projections as needed.
• Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of new healthcare payment structures.
• Collaborate closely with the President and administrative team to provide financial insights and strategic guidance.
• Secure financing options and negotiate payer contracts in consultation with leadership.
• Present monthly and annual financial reports to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
• Serve as a member of the Retirement Committee, offering input on investments and overseeing retirement contribution calculations. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and full-cycle payroll management.
• Strong expertise in accounts payable, general ledger, and grant accounting.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing annual budgets, financial reporting, and cost analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare reimbursement processes and payer contract negotiations.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements for protected health information and healthcare financial regulations.
