Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Linden, New Jersey. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong foundation in bookkeeping and payroll management.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process and manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate recordkeeping.

• Oversee payroll operations, including deductions, pensions, and retirement plans, for a team of approximately 25 employees.

• Manage and reconcile petty cash, live bills, and service desk transactions.

• Accurately record and enter government agency checks into the system following board meeting approvals.

• Perform regular account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision and attention to detail.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are properly accounted for.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools for data entry and financial reporting tasks. Requirements • At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related role.

• Proficiency in managing payroll operations and understanding deductions, pensions, and retirement plans.

• Strong skills in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.

• Experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with data entry tasks.

• Ability to handle petty cash and other live financial transactions responsibly.

• Degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
