We are looking for a driven and curious client-focused Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in Birmingham, AL.

As a key member of our Birmingham team, you’ll have the chance to challenge yourself and perform a variety of water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects from the initial planning and design phase through construction. As an Entry Level Civil (Water/Wastewater) Engineer your job will include:

• Work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from design through construction for

o Water distribution projects

o Wastewater collection projects

o Water treatment projects

o Wastewater treatment projects

• Hydraulic modeling

• Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications

• Performing research, technical writing, development of documentation and studies as well as data collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activities

• Supporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper construction and provide on-site troubleshooting based on field conditions to including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activities.

• Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, operations staff, and all stakeholders to ensure the overall success of projects.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas

• Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base

• Ability to work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and pdf editors

• Relevant coursework or projects

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering

• Prior work or internship experience

• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain in the first year
