Overview
Kemin Food Technologies is hiring an Application Engineer to support our Proteins team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of product application systems and services offered to our customers. You’ll work closely with our Process Engineer and equipment manufacturers to review design specifications and either construct or oversee the construction of application assemblies tailored to customer requirements.
Additionally, the Application Engineer will handle PLC programming for both automated and manual batching/dosing systems, as well as manage installation and commissioning at customer sites. The ideal candidate will bring experience in hydro-mechanics, electro-mechanical engineering, and/or process engineering.
This position is located in Des Moines, Iowa and expected to travel up to 60% of the time to customer facilities in refrigerated food processing plants across the US and Canada.

Responsibilities
+ Build and install various application equipment.
+ Integrate application technology into customer processing systems.
+ Responsible for app aspects of equipment installation.
+ Troubleshoot and repair existing application systems at customer locations.
+ Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required.
+ Ability to assemble and install application equipment at customer sites across North America.
+ Participate in attending local exhibitions, seminars, trainings, and workshops.
+ Assistance in development of new application systems.
+ Provide day to day support to customers, sales team, and KAS engineers.
Qualifications
+ Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree with 0-3 years of industrial experience in areas of powder hydration, hydro-mechanics, electro-mechanical engineering; measurement and control technology; process engineering.
+ Able to learn and understand electrical and communication systems.
+ Familiarity or understanding of PLC's and automated systems.
+ Ability to work independently or in a structured team.
+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
+ Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
+ Excellent analytical and decision making skills.
+ Effective oral and written communication skills.
+ Quality minded.
+ Travel up to 60% to customer facilities in refrigerated food processing plants across the US and Canada.
