• Geospatial Database Engineer

    Summary:

    Dignitas is looking for senior synthetic environments engineer who can span multiple disciplines and brings extensive M&S experience. Must be capable of handling technical, customer, business development, and leadership roles. Additionally, must have a broad spectrum of applied cross-discipline expertise in M&S synthetic environments including:

     

    + Knowledge of DoD simulation systems

    + Image generators

    + Database engineering

    + GIS

    + 3D modeling

    + Run time database formats

    + Geospatial and atmospheric data sources

    + End-to-end database generation processes

    + Database testing

     

    Ideal candidate will be capable of leading end-to-end synthetic environment efforts, interfacing directly with customers and end user, capable of designing geospatial processing pipelines, and be familiar with industry and DoD indicatives in synthetic environments. Candidate should be well-versed in DoD and geospatial standards and tool sets. Candidate must have direct, applied experience in working with multiple DoD simulation systems.

    Knowledge of the following COTS applications:

    + ESRI ArcGIS

    + QGIS

    + GlobalMapper

    + Adobe Photoshop

    + Autodesk Maya/3DS Max

    + Presagis Creator

    + Presagis TerraVista

    + TerraSim TerraTools

    + Rockwell Collins EP2

    Knowledge of visual database generation concepts including:

    + Feature extraction and cleanup from satellite imagery

    + Satellite imagery material classification

    + 3D modeling in OpenFlight

    + Runtime performance evaluation and correction

    + Knowledge of scripting and coding languages

    + Production pipeline content management

    + Unique data specialization required

    + DBGS toolset maintenance

    + 3D model texture creation and manipulation

     

    Supervisory Responsibility

     

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities but could occasionally direct or provide guidance to some employees on the project.

     

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

     

    This is a full-time position.

     

    Travel

     

    Travel is not required for this position. This can be subject to change with notice to the employee.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant degree.

     

    Preferred Education and Experience

     

    Master's degree in computer science or other relevant degree.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen

     

    Must have the ability to obtain security clearance
