As a Sr HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts within our Energy & Sustainability Solutions (ESS) business unit. You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, ensuring compliance with Safety and environmental regulations, and promoting sustainability. You will report directly to our [HSE Manager] and you'll work out of our Buffalo, NY location.
In this role, you will impact our organization by developing and implementing comprehensive HSE strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the organization's mission, fostering a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
+ Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, certifications, standards and procedures.
+ Develop and implement proactive/ effective safety measures, training, and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
+ Conduct risk assessments, field inspections and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions, preventive measures and effective corrective actions.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
+ Support the planning and execution of activities for the Emergency response team (ERT)
+ Support the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
+ Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
+ Promote a strong safety culture through regular engagement and communication with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders .
+ Provide Health, Safety and environmental guidance and support to operations and project teams ensuring projects are executed in compliance.
+ Ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters
+ Develop, improve, implement and deliver training for Life critical Programs ( Lock Tag Try, Line Breaking, Hot work, Confined space, electrical safety).
+ Participate in incidents investigations and support root cause analysis and follow-up actions until closure.
The annual base salary range for this position is $89,600 - $111,800. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ 6+ years of experience in HSE Engineering
+ 3-6 yrs of in-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices
+ 3-6 yrs of Proficiency in HSE Management Systems
+ 3-6 yrs of proven Communication, problem -solving, and strategic planning abilities.
+ 3-6 yrs of proven experience leading HSE programs in a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment.
