Position Summary: Responsible for billing accurately fees and insurance revenues for St John's entities
Responsibilities include:
+ Exercises full compliance with St. Johns policies and procedures, HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare guidelines.
+ Accurately processes patient billing information and submits claims to insurance companies.
+ Manages and follows up on outstanding claims, denials, and errors.
+ Maintains Clearinghouse and/or Electronic medical record as needed for all eligibility and billing needs.
+ Preforms routine analysis and ensures proper procedures related to Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payers.
+ Responds to residents and responsible parties' billing questions.
+ Identifies issues attributing to account delinquency and communicate directly with Supervisor.
+ Demonstrates St. Johns core organizational competencies.
Qualifications and Education Required:
+ Associates Degree with one to two years of billing and computer experience.
+ Proven experience as a medical Biller with Medical Billing Certificate preferred
+ Ability to work Independently and as part of a team.
+ Proficient in billing software and computer systems
+ Must obtain Medical Billing certification within one year of employment.
+ Must Maintain active Medical Billing Certificate while employed by St. John's. This includes completing required continuing education credits.
