Accounts Receivable Specialist

Summary/Objective
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for accurately recording customer transactions, processing payments, and overseeing collection efforts to ensure timely account resolution. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and collaboration with team members to address payment discrepancies efficiently. Additionally, the position includes light receptionist duties, such as greeting visitors and handling phone calls.
Essential Functions
1. Process payments received via credit card, ACH, or mailed check.
2. Follow up on any overdue accounts and escalate if necessary.
3. Maintain a clear record of communications and actions taken to recover payments.
4. Process daily invoices for mailing or emailing to our customers.
5. Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail.
6. Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the office.
7. Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls on automated phone system.
8. Ensure office area is tidy and presentable.
9. Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
10. Other duties as needed.

Work Environment
Work in the office at 4280 E 14th Street, Des Moines, IA 50313
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Travel
Travel is minimal for offsite training and some onsite service work.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma is required, along with a minimum of one year of related accounting/finance experience. An associate’s degree or a minimum of two (2) years of accounting/finance experience is preferred but not required.
**Pay Details:** $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
