Organization Overview:
The Engineer – Warehouse is responsible for establishing and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of the equipment/robotics systems in the area they support. The engineer engages with the project and cross-functional support teams as an equipment/automation subject matter expert to ensure the business meets defined safety, quality, and productivity goals. The engineer also ensures that systems and platforms are in-control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, while delivering on projects associated with regulatory compliance, commercialization, capacity, and process improvement efforts.
This specific role will be responsible for engineering delivery activities for multiple equipment/systems within the K116 project in Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing, delivering capability for fully automated material movements within IPM. Following project delivery, this role will become a member of the warehouse process team, providing engineering support to the warehouse areas during production operations.
Responsibilities:
+ Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve safety culture.
+ Responsible for the safe design and safe operation of the equipment within the area.
+ Ensure that process automation solutions/systems are in-control, capable, and compliant throughout K116 Warehouse systems.
+ Lead or assist in C&Q and Verification activities (including commissioning activities of new equipment or areas).
+ Support the development, deployment, and operation of material movement solutions within K115 and K116 projects.
+ Partner with the Global Robotics Program team to support design and implementation of systems.
+ Communicate effectively with others, especially project team members, process team members, operations, maintenance, and crafts personnel.
+ Perform impact assessments for varying levels of changes to responsible equipment/systems.
+ Understand equipment reliability issues with the objective of process improvement.
+ Identify and drive improvements associated with equipment within the area.
+ Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve more difficult equipment and operational problems.
+ Apply formal problem-solving techniques, including Root Cause Analysis, to resolve equipment issues.
+ Engage with original equipment manufacturers and other service vendors to build knowledge base and deliver on projects and troubleshooting efforts.
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field; preferably with 1-2 years of experience.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
+ Ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing (Operations, Quality, etc.).
+ Good interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
+ Knowledge in control system programming and integration with Robotics platforms, PLC, HMI, and MES systems.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, parenteral, and/or packaging processes.
+ Experience in Commissioning & Qualification, asset delivery, validation activities, and cGMP regulations.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to customers, business partners, and staff including good oral, written, and visual presentations.
+ Experience utilizing and implementing various tools, systems, and processes resulting in improved operational excellence.
+ Proficiency in working cross-functionally to deliver on highly complex tasks that may have aggressive timelines.
Additional Information:
+ 8-hour dayshift work schedule.
+ Must be willing to work extended hours during peak periods.
+ Must be willing to respond to off-hour support needs, as necessary.
+ Occasional travel may be required for project delivery activities, training, conferences, capital projects, etc.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$64,500 - $143,000
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
