Who we’re looking for:

The TFS Enterprise Tools team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as an **Senior Principal Engineer – Developer platform** , to help our growing Enterprise developer platform's needs. This position is an individual contributor role developing software systems, frameworks and libraries, mentor a team of engineers, responsible for delivering best in class solutions, frameworks and tools as part of developer platform

What you’ll be doing

Software Craftmanship

+ Hands on engineer in building large-scale software systems

+ Deep expertise in multiple software frameworks, expertise in creating reusable, maintainable frameworks and components

+ Well versed with distributed system design concepts and development

+ Experience with infrastructure as code

Leadership and Team Management:

+ Mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

+ Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to ensure individual and team goals are met.

Technology Strategy and Execution:

+ Work with leaders in creating impactful strategic roadmap for technology initiatives to deliver best in class application frameworks and tools

+ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into technology solutions that enhance employee experience

+ Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our technology offerings

What you bring

+ Deep expertise and hands-on experience as a software engineer with experience in designing, implementing modern 12 factor application frameworks to promote reuse of cloud native business technology solutions

+ Hands on experience in cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, software engineering, automated testing and operations.

+ Solid technical foundation with relevant hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, REST API, distributed, microservices architecture and other architectural patterns

+ 12+ years of hands-on experience in delivering highly scalable cloud native solutions utilizing programming languages like Java, Javascript or Python, SQL, NoSQL databases in AWS cloud using AWS services: ECS, Docker, ALBs, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lamda, application testing tools, test pyramid, application security and instrumentation

+ Exposure to any of the one Infrastructure as code platforms - Terraform, Open Tofu, CFT, or AWS - CDK

+ Effective communication skills with the ability to move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and leading presentations with non-technical stakeholders

+ A passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning modern technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, bringing abstract ideas to life with hands on coding, helping to improve engineering excellence via mentoring other members of the engineering community or evaluation of code and development processes.

Added bonus if you have

+ Experience with ReactJS, AngularJS, or VUE
