Job Title: Mechatronics EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a passionate Mechatronics Engineer to innovate and optimize automation for premium ammunition reloading equipment. This role involves designing controls, circuits, and motor systems, both for backend operations and front-end user interfaces. You will utilize your mechanical design skills for motor controls, small mechanisms, and kinematics to create and enhance tools for a discerning community of users.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop products and accessories in CAD, ensuring functionality, durability, and user experience.
+ Generate detailed 3D models and technical drawings for electronic and robotic automated functionality.
+ Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Production teams to enhance product designs.
+ Leverage in-house and supplier resources to explore new systems and processes.
+ Conduct testing to validate product designs, ensuring they meet performance standards and industry regulations.
+ Utilize fabrication and rapid prototyping skills to build product samples and test new production strategies.
+ Provide design support during the manufacturing process, including troubleshooting and problem-solving for manufacturability.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and product management, to ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrated professional experience.
+ 3-5+ years in product design, automated motor control, and complex mechanical assemblies.
+ Proficiency in electronics, PLCs, and control languages such as C++, Arduino, Raspberry Pi.
+ Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD-based design, prototyping, and testing.
+ Experience in engaging users and analyzing the broader user experience.
+ Experience in testing and validation of mechanical products.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the ammunition, firearms, or outdoor equipment industry.
+ Deep understanding of ammunition reloading and related products.
+ Hands-on hobbies involving automotive, metal forming, off-roading, competitive shooting, and gun enthusiasm.
+ Experience in short turn product development lifecycle from a small company or startup environment.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a desk/office setting, but also spending time on the manufacturing floor and with prototype parts and assemblies. You will work in test labs performing environmental testing such as shock, vibration, and structural testing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.67 - $52.88/hr.
