    Job Title: Design EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to create detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams from multiple countries to support the sourcing and quoting process. The position requires negotiating manufacturing tolerances with suppliers and making necessary corrections or revisions to models. You will run basic FEA simulations, coordinate with team members to gather information for drawings, and support sampling rounds by referencing CAD measurements.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks.

    + Participate in cross-functional team meetings for product development.

    + Collaborate with international partners and vendors to support sourcing and quoting processes.

    + Negotiate manufacturing tolerances with suppliers and internal customers.

    + Correct and revise 2D or 3D models, including SolidWorks native and non-native data.

    + Run basic FEA simulations on 3D models to validate vendor suggestions.

    + Coordinate with team members to obtain relevant information for drawings.

    + Adhere to tight and dynamic deadlines.

    + Support sampling rounds by referencing CAD measurements against sample measurements.

    + Take ownership of all technical aspects of product families.

    + Regularly update project managers and non-technical team members.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in SolidWorks.

    + Experience with injection molding, including DFM.

    + Knowledge of consumer products, especially in Asia.

    + Ability to negotiate with suppliers.

    + Understanding of full life cycle development.

    + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred.

    + 5+ years of engineering experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience reviewing injection mold tool plans.

    + Ability to manipulate non-native CAD data (STP/IGES/DXF).

    + Ability to work with CAD feature trees created by other users.

    + Basic understanding of surface modeling.

    + Up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments.

    + Good time management and organizational skills.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Detail-oriented and highly motivated.

    + Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners.

    + Ability to complete work on time according to deadlines.

    + Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

    + Bonus: Engineered wood experience.

    + Bonus: Experience designing various types of furniture.

    Work Environment

    The position is part of a team focused on sustaining and vendor diversification, consisting of five other engineers and a total of fifteen engineers onsite. The work environment is hybrid, with three days onsite and two days remote. This role offers flexibility in accessing SolidWorks remotely and allows career progression, stability, and professional development opportunities.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
