Description
•This person will be the Continuous Improvement driver for all of the Control Systems. They will have to identify opportunity in the existing systems that bring innovation to current automation OR apply automation to existing control systems. This person will be the technical representative to review PLC Code and suggest modifications to the on-site controls team for implementation. They will need to be good at analyzing data across multiple locations to find common themes/trends in PLC code that could 1) be standardized or 2) common root causes for rework that they can try to prevent in new sites being build. Will be helping with creating control systems templates for all sites. They will be part of a team that consults the material handling sites to drive innovation in automation and controls across the board.
•Work independently with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high-quality (e.g., on-time, on-budget, maintainable, low-defects, etc.).
•Partner with project managers and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet a deadline.
•Influence technical documentation content, perform documentation review, dive deep into system layouts and solutions.
•Competently represent system and/or equipment designs to both customers and other teams.
•Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team.
•Excel at developing good working relationships with vendors, engineers, managers, and peers.
•Participate in design reviews and support execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout, with emphasis on the electrical and controls layout.
•Work with internal teams to develop quality and performance test plans that enable vendors to demonstrate the quality of their system
•Build strong working relationships with leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites as well as their Launch, Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders.
•Identify and lead process improvement initiatives in support of operations teams within a geographic node.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must be able to program from scratch in Allen Bradley.
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other STEM field.
•4+ years of experience as a controls engineer, electrical engineer, process engineer, project manager, or related occupation.
•Experience with managing material handling or automation projects.
•Design and/or implementation experience of the electrical and or controls areas of integrated automation solutions, such as material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines.
•Experience with SCADA/HMI development and implementation is preferred
•Experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project and Outlook.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
