The Process Engineer is tasked with enhancing plant performance and process control through the application of engineering principles, data collection, and analysis. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to foster continuous improvement, provide technical support, and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Optimize manufacturing processes to improve process control and productivity through daily monitoring, analysis, and reporting of critical process data.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and resolve process upsets.
+ Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited College or University.
+ 2+ years of experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
+ Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying trends, and proposing solutions for process optimization.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and champion change in a dynamic environment.
+ Understanding of process flows, P&ID’s, and mass/energy balances.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong project management skills including time management, action planning, task prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
+ Experience with process control systems and data historians (e.g., Wonderware, OSIsoft PI).
+ High level of self-motivation and direction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
+ Previous experience with metallurgical processes preferred.
+ Experience using statistical software and tools.
Work Environment
The role requires the willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin with or without reasonable accommodation. The candidate must also be able to work in a hot/high temperature production facility while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
