Job Description
HII- Mission Technolgies is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 2 to join the MICA software development team in the Ft. Meade area. This team is responsible for the development and testing of several software applications in support of HII-NNS ship modernization efforts. Emphasis for this effort is focused on the development of GUI applications. Team members support the design, development, and test phases of the software development life cycle for these applications. While a security clearance is not required for this effort, all development work must be conducted on site.
Essential Job Responsibilities
+ Software Development:
+ Review and identify potential enhancements in existing software applications.
+ Apply software development best practices and agile methodologies to upgrade software applications to newer languages.
+ Implement software changes based on customer requirements.
+ Software Testing:
+ Complete unit testing and code reviews for developed or modified software applications.
+ Provide Testers with information pertinent to software execution and any restraints that impact testing methodologies.
+ Documentation:
+ Create or update detailed user manuals, software release notes, and version description documents as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
+ 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
+ Experience with software development languages such as Visual Basic, Java, C, C++, or C#.
+ A Security Clearance is not required for this position
Preferred Requirements
+ Experience with agile development methodologies
+ Experience with issue tracking software such Jira or YouTrack
+ Experience with Siemens Programmable Logical Controllers and/or Ladder logic
+ Experience with Visual Basic 6 or greater
