+ Competitive starting pay range of **$27.44-$32.15 per hour, paid weekly**

+ Shift Differential **$2.00**

Responsibilities

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

+ Perform various activities on equipment and machines including reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work;

+ Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems;

+ Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs;

+ Lubricate or apply other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures;

+ Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications;

+ Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance;

+ Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools.

Qualifications

Requirements:

+ High school graduate or equivalent required.

+ Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working on production equipment.

+ Applicants must be 18 years of age or older; criminal background checks and drug screening required.

Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:

+ Must be able to acquire and maintain a lift truck license within 60 days of hire/promotion.

+ Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

+ Able to safely work in a moderately conditioned, industrial process manufacturing environment

+ Must be able to frequently climb 10-40 steps and occasionally climb 5-10 ladder rungs.

+ Able to work in differing temperatures

+ Non-traditional work schedules will be based on location needs or specific situations.

+ Non-traditional work schedules will almost always be planned and coordinated in advance.

Covington is a city and the county seat of Newton County, Georgia, located 35 miles east of Atlanta. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 13,118.

The plant was built in 1967 manufactures polystyrene foam containers, and has approximately 370 Pactiv employees.
