An HES custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of school facilities, ensuring every school day runs smoothly and students can focus on learning. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment.

    Job Skills / Requirements

     

    Summer Mover for Elbert County Schools

     

    This position is labor-intensive. If you cannot steadily move furniture, please do not apply. You must be at least 18 years old to apply.

     

    This job is temporary but could grow to permanent. The dates for this position will be 05/26/25 to 07/18/25. Attendance is very strict.

     

    $13/hr

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Move Furniture around schools as directed

    + This position will require you to switch locations biweekly or weekly as needed.

    + All locations will be inside the Elbert County School District.

    + Dolly, hand trucks, and carts will be provided.

    + Shift will be 8 AM to 4 PM (Monday through Friday)

    + Cleaning will be required when there is no furniture to move

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Able to read, write, and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position

    + Good interpersonal skills

    + Must be able to work with a diverse group of people

    + Willingness to learn

    + Clear criminal background check

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - - - Must be able to:

    + Lift up to 50 pounds

    + Ability to push, pull, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel

    + Walk up to 6 hours per day

    + Climb ladders, scaffolds up to 6’ high, and stairs

    + Able to use basic hand tools

    High School Diploma or Equivalent DRIVERS LICENSE
