Performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC product development and manufacturing. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: fabrication and assembly of fixtures and equipment, set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, lead compliance and quality activities and train other team members.
Job Description
Summary
The role of Senior Technician is to provide technical support for operations related to design, development, testing, evaluation and maintenance of medical devices (including imaging equipment). The work requires knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance issues relating to medical device industry, as well as the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for supporting installation and maintenance of existing equipment and/or systems
• Conducts preventive maintenance on instruments, equipment and system
• Accurately performs routine tests and procedures in assigned area(s)
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on products/equipment
• Communicates test results to customers; explains information to customers who are not familiar with medical terminology
• Prepares reports for review by supervisor or physician
• Coordinates activities between technicians, nursing staff and physicians to facilitate the smooth flow of patient care
• Assists clinical engineers with establishing and maintaining computerized databases
• Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives
• Participates in regular audits of medical records
• Provides input into performance appraisals of departmental staff
Qualifications
• Completion of high school diploma required, plus two years of relevant experience OR Associates degree
• Demonstrated competence in basic math and English skills
• Basic proficiency with computers and applications
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and written
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- This role will lead the solder program at the ROC site, as well as performing repair of FRUs for the DI team (50/50 split.)
- Proficiency with solder techniques, as well as the ability to train others on the standards related to soldering.
-Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electronics to the component level.
