In this role, you will oversee the daily operations and activities of a team and contractors that are responsible for maintaining county facilities. + Lead, direct, and supervise, assigned staff's daily activities, functions, and operations.
+ Establish work priorities and adjust schedules as needed to meet objectives.
+ Monitor assignments to ensure services are being performed as specified, conduct field visits, and spot checks of work being performed.
+ Monitor safety practices of staff and conduct education when deemed necessary.
+ Assist in hiring, developing, and evaluating departmental staff.
+ Complete performance reviews and initiate corrective or disciplinary actions as needed.
+ Perform project management duties for assigned Facilities-related projects.
+ Compose detailed scopes of work for various building maintenance projects.
+ Ensure compliance with County and State policies and regulations.
+ Monitor contractors to ensure performance and work provided meets/exceeds County standards and expectations of quality workmanship.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Building, Construction, or related field .
+ - OR - Two (2) year associate's degree AND two (2) years of experience in the related field.
+ - OR - A High School diploma AND four (4) years of related experience in the related field.
+ One year of supervisory experience (lead worker or acting in a supervisory capacity may be counted) in facilities and/or building maintenance environment.
+ A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of applicable state and local regulations and ordinances.
+ Advanced knowledge of the methods, equipment, principles, practices, troubleshooting, and techniques of commercial roofing systems, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and common peripherals.
+ Knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
+ Ability to interpret and conduct construction/maintenance inspections.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $27.49 - $31.00/ hou r , based on experience
