    Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a _Human Resources Professional or Senior_ to join our Human Resources team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

     

    What does a Human Resources Professional or Senior do for us?

     

    The Benefits HR Professional will play a key role in supporting our total rewards strategy and ensuring the optimal administration of our health and welfare benefit plans. Utilizing strong benefits expertise, they will oversee, administer, and advise on benefits related policies, programs, and processes; manage vendor relationships; and continuously analyze programs to improve and align with organizational and employee needs.

    This individual will also:

    + Effectively apply knowledge and experience in benefits management to optimize offerings, streamline enrollment processes, and address employee concerns

    + Provide guidance and education to employees and leaders on benefits programs, policies, and available resources

    + Lead efforts focused on program/process improvements, requests for proposals, vendor negotiations, and new initiative implementations to support employee well-being and retention

    + Conduct benefits benchmarking analysis to compare company offerings with industry standards, ensuring competitive and cost-effective benefits that attract and retain top talent

    + Administer annual benefit open enrollment, including marketing and scheduling of educational meetings, and presentations on benefits offerings

    + Coordinate benefits strategic planning, including plan design, legislative changes, and funding

    + Ensures compliance with internal policies and all federal, state, and local regulations

    + Provide benefits reports and cost analysis

    + Partner and consult with HR colleagues and business leaders across the enterprise to interpret business issues and recommend solutions

    + Partner closely with external vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators to ensure high-quality service and cost-effective plans

    + Serves as the HIPAA Compliance Officer and coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration

    + Oversees benefits audits, compliance filings, mandatory notices and communications

    + Collaborates and/or coordinates special projects with HR colleagues

    + May assist with the administration of retirement, and leaves and disability plans

    A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

    Knowledge of:

    + Benefits administration

    + Benefits-related laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal level, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA

    Preferred:

    + Self-funded insurance plan administration

    Skills in:

    + Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of plan designs

    + Interpersonal skills to support sensitive and confidential situations

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and HRIS

    + Developing benefits presentations and marketing materials

    **Preferred** :

    + Workday HRIS

    Ability to:

    + Manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines, with ability to plan, prioritize, and regularly improve processes

    + Effectively summarize and present complex or unfamiliar information for a variety of audiences

    + Think critically and solve problems both independently and collaboratively as needed

    + Exercise strong judgment and decision making

    + Influence employees and leaders at all levels of the organization

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Human Resources Professional:

    Education:

    + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience

    Preferred:

    + Bachelor's degree or related certifications

    Experience:

    + 3 years of professional/advanced HR experience

    Preferred:

    + 3 years of benefits related experience

    Licenses & Certifications:

    + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

    Senior Human Resources Professional:

    Education:

    + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience

    Preferred:

    + Advanced degree or related certifications

    Experience:

    + 5 years of professional/advanced HR experience

    Preferred:

    + 5 years of benefits related experience

    Licenses & Certifications:

    + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
