Primary Responsibilities

+ Actively engage with youth in classroom environment

+ Assist education staff members in managing student behaviors

+ Assist teachers in preparation and implementation of curriculum

+ Council youth in matters of personal conduct, hygiene, appearance, safety, social skills, academics, and decision making

+ Proactively prevent or manage a crisis situation in a therapeutic manner

+ Fulfill other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Social Work

+ Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect

+ Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening

+ Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles

+ Ability to physically restrain if required

Preferred Qualifications

+ Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity
