Job Summary:

The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for driving DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native solutions within Azure. This role will focus on codifying infrastructure, CI/CD, security, and governance to create scalable, resilient, and efficient cloud environments. The engineer will lead automation initiatives, enforce GitOps practices, and enhance platform reliability through code-driven solutions. They will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to streamline cloud-native architectures, improve deployment automation, and establish best practices for DevOps automation. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud automation, strong programming and scripting skills, and a passion for optimizing cloud operations through automation.

Job Responsibilities:

+ The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for driving DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native solutions within Azure

+ This role will focus on codifying infrastructure, CI/CD, security, and governance to create scalable, resilient, and efficient cloud environments

+ The engineer will lead automation initiatives, enforce GitOps practices, and enhance platform reliability through code-driven solutions

+ They will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to streamline cloud-native architectures, improve deployment automation, and establish best practices for DevOps automation

+ Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) to automate provisioning and configuration of Azure cloud resources

+ Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, enabling fully automated deployments and continuous integration

+ Implement GitOps practices to enforce consistency and version control for infrastructure and applications

+ Automate security and compliance enforcement using Policy as Code (OPA, Sentinel, Azure Policy)

+ Integrate Identity as Code and automated security controls to streamline cloud governance and access management

+ Serve as a Kubernetes SME, optimizing AKS workloads, and automating cluster management for scalability, security, and resilience

+ Implement Logging as Code and Monitoring as Code solutions using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or similar tools

+ Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, reliability, and security through automation-driven strategies

+ Understanding of cloud security best practices and principles

+ Skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and system administration

+ Mentor junior engineers and advocate for DevOps best practices across teams

External Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or related field

+ 5+ years of hands-on experience is Deployment automation for various applications IaaS, PaaS platforms on a Linux environment

+ 5+ years of hands-on experience in automation software like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform or equivalent

+ Excellent knowledge in implementation of CI/CD pipelines for Cloud deployments using containers/Docker

+ Strong demonstrable experience in GIT Workflows, Pipelines, and code repository management

+ Experience in working on Kubernetes platform on a microservices architecture and other DevOps tooling

+ Good understanding of infrastructure components (e.g. databases, networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerization)

+ Experience in operationalization Web and Mobile applications through monitoring and alerting for a polyglot application stack

+ **Web/backend Developer**

+ Previous experience with full stack development ranging from front-end user interfaces to back-end systems

+ Expert level knowledge of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing & operations

+ A mindset to take up most challenging coding tasks

+ Proficiency in design, development, security & scalability of high-volume services implemented in Java, Node/Typescript, .NET, or Python etc.

+ Strong demonstrated experience of Enterprise Integration Design patterns in development of loosely coupled & resilient systems
