Senior Manager, Aviation Planning

Some of what you'll be doing:
As the Senior Manager, Aviation Planning, you will develop planning approaches and processes in advancement of Aviation Division goals, planning department work programs and capital improvements to accommodate increased passenger and cargo activity as well as support of increased customer service, economic and sustainability goals.
+ You will serve as the primary planning policy and strategic resource for the Aviation Division and collaborate to develop long and short-term Planning Department objectives.
+ You will provide continuous performance management and support staff growth and development through mentoring and assessing educational and budgetary needs.
+ You will establish the Planning Department work program and provide a budgetary forecast for the division planning needs and planning required to inform the 10–15-year Capital Improvement Program.
+ You will oversee and facilitate stakeholder engagement and discussions with Port leadership, local jurisdictions, federal and state regulating and planning agencies, airlines, and the public regarding Planning Department practices, current initiatives, and long-term objectives.
+ You will develop planning approaches and processes for use in helping to identify and test potential solutions to best meet Division needs, such as: quantitative analytical methodologies, physical planning, incorporation of stakeholder perspective, and strategic thinking.
+ You will provide technical subject matter expertise for fast and economical response in lieu of use of external consultants.
+ You will establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and consultants to facilitate the planning and decision-making process.
Who you are:
+ **Experienced** – You have six (6) years of experience in facility, planning, design, operations or property management in an airport or airline environment and three (3) years of experience supervising staff.
+ **Desired** – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, or Engineering.

+ **Interpersonal** – You convey complex and technical details to individuals with varying degrees of technical knowledge. You leverage interpersonal skills and technical knowledge to bring people and ideas together to perform collaboratively.
+ **Analytical** – You use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
What else you need to know:
+ **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
+ **Work Environment** - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
+ **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
