Some of what you'll be doing:
As a Signage & Wayfinding Specialist, you will be responsible for design oversight and creation, project management and implementation of signage projects at the airport. You will analyze and identify signage systems needing improvements or replacements, material evaluation, code review, site assessments, participate in Signage Design Standards development, coordination, and asset verification and identification tasks.
+ You will be a subject matter expert for the signage and wayfinding design discipline and monitor and interpret changes in laws, regulations, and guidance related to signage codes and evaluate impact to the Port.
+ You will provide consultation on sign materials, fabrication methods, and costs, and give guidance on incorporating new signage systems into existing facilities and new construction.
+ You will evaluate capital and expense project design drawings for conformance to standards and specifications.
+ You will provide holistic signage coordination across ongoing capital projects and expansion of existing infrastructure.
+ You will conduct static signage asset management duties such as inventory, condition assessment, and function as "owner" and subject matter expert of asset condition.
+ You will coordinate with Capital Project Managers to review asset management intake forms and coordinate the collection of all new capital project assets to be incorporated into signage asset management software by technical designer.
+ You will act as project manager for maintenance, small works, and Port Construction Services (PCS) projects to ensure project is designed and implemented accurately, meeting Port standards and expectation.
+ You will strategically initiate and coordinate preventative maintenance programs for airport signage and wayfinding systems to maintain aviation operations and maximize life cycle of systems.
+ You will implement the integration of new methods, systems, technologies, materials, programs or processes including research of discipline specific innovative or specialized solutions.
+ You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand message needs, develop visual concepts and designs according to requested specifications, and revise designs based on feedback.
Who you are:
+ **Experienced** – You have four (4) years of experience in architecture, environmental graphics or signage planning, design or fabrication.
+ **Desired** – We hope you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Graphic Design, Art, Architecture, Industrial Design, Communications or related 3D design field.

+ **Organized** – You can manage multiple moderately complex project simultaneously. You prioritize and balance various assignments and responsibilities as needed through planning, teamwork, and collaborating with stakeholders.
What else you need to know:
+ **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
+ **Work Environment** - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
+ **Overtime Eligible** – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
+ **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
