In this exciting role, you will be responsible for day-to-day manufacturing floor support in a medical device manufacturing area that produces materials used for wound closure products. You will focus on increasing the efficiency of the processed product while maintaining high standards for quality, cost, and safety. This includes supporting root cause analysis activities, output monitoring, and performing necessary experiments to establish robust processes. You'll gain a thorough understanding of capabilities and interactions with upstream and downstream processes and help define equipment needs, including tooling and operator interactions.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and belongs to the North Haven Engineering department. While the role requires on-site work, flexible work arrangements are available to align with our current teamwork strategy and needs. Additionally, the position involves occasional domestic and international travel, determined based on specific business needs. As part of the job, you will collaborate closely with the Operations team and several engineering disciplines such as Quality, R&D, Biocompatibility, Regulatory Affairs, and others.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Provide daily production support to set up, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor chemical and mechanical processes like crystallization, distillation, polymer extrusion, and bio-medical process equipment.

+ Review manufacturing equipment and processes for improvement potential using statistical data and analysis of equipment condition then effectively manage change projects.

+ Team with manufacturing and quality personnel on a daily basis to review / disposition production defects and provides potential process and/or equipment corrective actions to assure production schedules and quality expectations are met.

+ Review production data to determine root causes of potential manufacturing defects then develop and implement effective corrective actions.

+ Provide expertise in specification development, procurement, build, documentation, validation, and personnel training for chemical, polymer extrusion, textile, and bio-medical related processes.

+ Support new product development, quality improvement, and integration projects.

+ Manage Engineering changes like BOM creation/modification and general ERP support.

+ Maintain excellent communications with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, Planning, and Metrology departments on an as-needed basis.

+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams a plus, using project management tools such as Microsoft Project Gantt charts, tracking financials of projects, holding successful meetings, and distributing timely minutes.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Preferred qualifications:

+ BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Bio-Medical, or Industrial Engineering

+ Experience in any polymer extrusion process

+ Experience on Medical Device Industry

+ Dynamic, positive attitude

+ Demonstrated abilities leading cross functional teams

+ Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision

+ Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills

+ Solid organizational, functional coordination and presentation skills

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$80,800.00 - $121,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
