    Position Title: 2025-2026 Secondary Art Teacher (Long Term Substitute)

    Brief Description:

    The Ithaca City School District is seeking a dynamic art educator for the ICSD art program at Boynton Middle School for a long term substitute position for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate exceptional visual art skills in teaching and art making. They will possess enthusiasm for teaching in both small group, and large classroom settings, coupled with a genuine passion for working with middle school students.

     

    As the long term substitute art teacher, you will play a pivotal role in guiding beginning and intermediate artists, grades 6 through 8 in middle school art classes. Proficiency in teaching various art mediums, including ceramics, studio art, media arts, and digital photography is preferred but not required. Experience with diverse student populations and an understanding of the importance of cultural representation in art education, ability to develop curriculum that celebrates student identities and fosters creativity is required.

    Required Qualifications:

    Salary Range: $53,291-$75,191 (10-month full-time base) Currently in union negotiations
