    Zurich North America is currently hiring a Project Coordinator working out of our Schumburg, IL headquarters. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for operational management of IT project governance adherence. Understands and can apply different delivery approaches (waterfall, Scrum, ZurichLean) and perform, with appropriate support, project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control as well as close a project in accordance with the Zurich Project Management Framework and the Zurich Risk Policy.

    Key Accountabilities

    + Comply with governance guidelines to ensure IT project adherence, includes project phases funding submission requests through closure in accordance with the Zurich Project Management Framework and the Zurich Risk Policy.

    + Lead, manage and successfully deliver monthly governance activities on active IT projects in support of the project or program manager, including but not limited to, month close advance preparation, financial forecast reconciliation, status reporting, and risk management.

    + Independently collate and analyze data using pre-determined tools, frameworks, and methods to provide advance insights on active projects to IT leadership.

    + Recognize and make appropriate recommendations to apply different delivery approaches (waterfall, Scrum, Zurich Lean) and funding approaches (project, product)

    + Support the sponsor, project lead and portfolio manager in the setup of the project to ensure the business case is clearly defined (including estimates of required resources and funds) and relevant stakeholders are engaged as part of evaluating the preferred product solution.

    + Ensure project artifacts are appropriate and stored according to governance adherence, maintaining an audit trail of activities to protect the organization.

    + Ensure timely and appropriate planning, collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, control, monitoring, and the ultimate disposal of project information to enable effective decision making and ensure successful project outcomes.

    + Support risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project to increase the likelihood and impact of positive events and decrease the likelihood and impact of negative events in the project.

    Additional Job Functions

    + Operational excellence with a continuous improvement mindset promoting efficiency of governance operations, by assessing and evaluating project/program deliverables and business processes to identify opportunities for improvement within ZNA governance, IT portfolio management, and project management.

    + Based on the need of the project, support internal and external relationships with Group PMO, business partners and suppliers as required.

    Business Accountabilities

    + Utilize established tools and processes to improve the tracking key project metrics such as budgets and schedules and highlight variances to manage and control specific project variables.

    + Support the risk assessment process while building the business case and execution lifecycles, ensuring project success.

    + Build relationships with line managers across a portfolio to deliver business change projects in assigned areas of the business.

    Performance Management Accountabilities

    + Model behaviors that demonstrate commitment to corporate values.

    + Provide input into performance management discussions of project team members.

    + Educate team members and business partners on area of technical expertise.

    + Provide guidance and support for team members.

    + Take action to manage own personal development and encourage others to do the same.

    Required

    + Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Project Management or Program Management area OR

    + High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Program Management area OR

    + Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Project Management or Program Management area

    Preferred

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and analytical skills

    + Ability to lead cross-functional/business project teams

    + Experience with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools

    + Project Management Institute Project Management Professional certification (PMP)

    + P&C Insurance, Financial Services experience

    + Project management with Waterfall and Agile experience

    + Experience with delivery and management of technical projects OR Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies

    + Experience working with vendors

    The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is 74,300.00-121,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
