ModMed (https://www.modmed.com/company/) 's is looking for an ambitious, self-driven AWS Cloud Engineering Intern with a passion for cloud technology, observability, and an SRE mindset. As a “go-getter” intern, you will thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment where you’ll take ownership of meaningful projects. You'll work directly with AWS services to help ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure while implementing cutting-edge monitoring solutions. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, is always eager to learn, and approaches challenges with energy and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities:Take charge of deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure on AWS, including services like EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, and RDS.
+ Automate infrastructure provisioning using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, pushing the envelope on efficiency.
+ Be a driving force in implementing observability practices using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or other tools to proactively monitor performance and reliability.
+ Troubleshoot issues swiftly, performing root cause analysis and suggesting immediate improvements.
+ Collaborate with the team to refine monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to detect anomalies and performance degradation before it impacts users.
+ Contribute ideas and hands-on work to strengthen our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, ensuring services are resilient and available 24/7.
+ Own your tasks with accountability, ensuring reliable and high-quality solutions are delivered quickly.
+ Continuously learn, adapt, and innovate. We're looking for a go-getter who isn't afraid to take risks and drive results.
Requirements:
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Basic familiarity with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.) and automation tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform).
+ Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
+ Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, observability, and performance monitoring concepts.
+ A natural “go-getter” mentality: passionate, self-driven, and eager to tackle complex challenges.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities, with the initiative to solve issues independently and proactively.
+ Excellent teamwork and communication skills — you're willing to take ownership but also know when to ask for help.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Developer – Associate) are a plus.
+ Experience with observability tools like Datadog, PagerDuty.
+ Exposure to container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
+ Familiarity with SRE principles, incident management, and ensuring service reliability
+ Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
+ Strong desire to continuously learn and grow, with a proactive approach to applying new technologies.
