Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Explosives Safety Specialist in the Explosives Safety Division (SPB63) within the Safety Department (SPB60) of the Strategic Weapons Facility, Pacific (SWFPAC). Responsibilities You will prepare or review all SWFPAC/MCSFBn site approval documents and facility modifications that involve facilities encumbered by or generating Explosives Safety Quantity Distance (ESQD) arcs. You will represent the commands on all external agency explosives safety compliance, formulating and implementing deficiency corrective actions and corresponding such action to higher authority. You will establish and administer an Explosives Safety Inspection including inspections/assessments of explosives operations, transportation, storage and materials handling, facilities, equipment and miscellaneous explosives operations. You will monitor and audit the explosive qualification and certification program in accordance with command policy and higher authority regulatory requirements, ensuring that personnel are qualified for explosives tasks which they perform. You will develop and lead an explosives safety program evaluation team, selecting members with specialized expertise from a cross-section of department, for the purpose of conducting a comprehensive audit of program effectiveness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing oversight and managing in the planning, developing and administering of explosive safety programs to ensure the safe handling, storage and use of explosives, minimizing risk for the life cycle of the program.
