What We Need:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer provides process engineering support for the coating processes at the Florist Ave facility. This includes ownership of department business metrics, engineering support and project management. This position has the potential to have management responsibility for area team leaders and/or supervisors. Individuals must be able to effectively interact with all areas of the business including R&D, engineering, shop floor, management, contractors, planning & inventory control, etc.
What You'll Be Doing:
+ Leads engineering improvements and capital updates to production processes.
+ Collaborates with R&D Engineering on product and process performance improvements and new product development.
+ Applies statistical process control (SPC) and risk mitigation tools to ensure robust processes.
+ Serves as gatekeeper for process capability prior to product launch.
+ Identifies and eliminates non-value-added activities to improve efficiency.
+ Standardizes processes and procedures across operations.
+ Owns departmental performance, including process, cost, and yield improvements.
+ Monitors key metrics and ensures performance visibility and accountability.
+ Acts as a technical resource for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Contributes to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and manages budgetary performance.
+ Ensures compliance with SOPs, standard work, and safety standards.
+ Leads by example to maintain a safe, clean, and effective work environment.
+ Provides direction, development, and support to supervisors and team leaders, including assistance with hiring, performance reviews, and discipline.
+ Performs other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the duties listed on this job description.
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 1 year in an engineering role.
+ Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage change and influence across functions.
+ Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and managing projects in a complex operational setting.
+ Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and process capability analysis.
+ Demonstrated ability to improve and standardize manufacturing processes through application of engineering principles.
+ Experience conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
+ Prior supervisory or leadership experience
+ Experience with coating and adhesive manufacturing is preferred.
