Who We Are : At L’Oréal Research & Innovation, we are pushing the boundaries of Science & Tech. We invest heavily in cutting-edge research, leveraging advanced technologies to understand skin, hair, and microbiome, while discovering new active ingredients and launching outperforming formulas. Our 4,100 L'Oréal R&I experts leverage Science & Technology to invent safe, trustable, sustainable & responsible beauty products and experiences that will change people’s lives.
As a Senior Scientific Liaison II in the Skincare Scientific Valorization Team , you will be responsible for supporting various elements of suncare product development from project initiation through market launch with a critical focus on communication of scientific knowledge, selection of active ingredients, and coordination of innovative testing.
A Day in the Life:
+ Marketing Partnership & Technical Guidance: Start your day by collaborating with Marketing teams, providing in-depth technical explanations of new and existing skincare technologies to support upcoming product launches and marketing concept development. This might involve clarifying the science behind active ingredients or explaining the benefits of specific formulations.
+ Scientific Communication & Review: Review marketing materials, including concepts, cartons, packaging, advertising copy, website content, e-commerce descriptions, and training materials, ensuring technical accuracy and consistency across all platforms.
+ Innovation & Brainstorming: Dedicate time to exploring scientific and technical literature and publications, identifying new technical or marketing opportunities and serving as a creative catalyst for potential new technology discoveries and innovative ingredient communication. You'll brainstorm novel testing approaches to support claims for active ingredients and product performance.
+ Claims Management & Testing Coordination: Manage the product claims process by collecting requests from US Marketing, reviewing the existing test platform to ensure all claims are being addressed, and working closely with Safety and Analytical teams to coordinate necessary product testing and analysis. You’ll also collaborate with the Clinical Evaluation team to schedule and oversee clinical, instrumental, and consumer testing.
+ Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results, providing technical support and interpretation of findings for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Prepare and issue technical dossiers for new products and modifications to existing products.
+ Public Relations & External Communication: Provide scientific support for public relations activities, acting as a technical expert for media inquiries and other external communication initiatives. This may involve preparing presentations or briefings for press events or conferences.
We Are Looking For:
+ Education: A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science or engineering discipline is required. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
+ Experience: 5-7 years of experience in the cosmetic/personal care or a related industry with a background in claims substantiation and scientific communication is required. Experience in skincare or suncare is a plus.
+ Project Management & Organization: Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects concurrently, and effectively navigate a matrix organization.
+ Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to large groups of professionals.
+ Global Collaboration & Communication: Experience working in international, multi-disciplinary environments with global teams, and excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) for diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
+ Strategic Thinking & Creativity: A strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to think "outside the box" and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
+ The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required)
+ Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)
