Position Description:
Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Under general supervision, performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, para-professional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions:
+ Manages all aspects of the MSBII Library (including: policies, procedures, training, troubleshooting, facilities issues, etc.).
+ Supervises Specialist IV
+ Teaches courses (credit and non-credit), conducts orientations, provides instructional sessions, and teaches seminars for faculty, residents, community members, and students
+ Manages and/or edits eJournal records in the Alma/Primo database
+ Answers library reference questions, assists library patrons, and performs literature searches
+ Tasks are performed in person, via telephone, via email, in library chat room, via STM, and using other web-based reference tools.
+ Acts as the liaison to assigned departments and schools for collection development purposes
+ Recommends monographs for purchase and weeding
+ Advises and provides feedback related to departmental goals, policies, and procedures
+ Writes for grants and funding for outreach activities
+ Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes
+ Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork)
+ Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution
+ Perform all other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree in Library/Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution
+ At least three years of experience in a health sciences library environment, and extensive library teaching experience
+ Experience working in an electronic only or virtual library
+ AHIP Membership
+ Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
+ Familiarity with traditional and electronic public services roles and activities
+ Demonstrable supervisory skills
+ Demonstrable skills in computer usage, including the ability to teach computer skills
+ Demonstrable teaching skills
+ Knowledge of collection development in an academic health sciences center
+ Knowledge of serials acquisition and control
