    Job Description

    Position Summary:Responsible for driving, teaching, assisting and monitoring all employees. Assist participants in the implementation of training objectives to develop necessary work skills, in order to achieve employment goals. Responsible for providing necessary support to all workers. Responsible for performing hands-on work procedures related to all janitorial and grounds keeping contracts and for confirmation of customers/employers ongoing satisfaction. Essential Accountabilities:

     

    + Maintain accurate record of workers attendance, workers weekly hours and quality assurance at work sites.

    + Maintain accurate records of face-to-face meetings on and/or off job sites.

    + Assist in the development of employment plans.

    + Work closely with each participant to assess their needs and strengths in order to successfully transition into a work site.

    + Generate monthly progress reports based on participant’s assessments and employment plans.

    + Assist employees with online mandatory yearly trainings.

    + Document progressive discipline issues.

    + Ensure review of progress reports with each participant to assess their chosen goal(s) and needed interventions.

    + Submit all documentation (progress reports, daily vouchers, activity logs, vehicle reports) monthly.

    + Provide direct support on and off work sites, utilizing transitional techniques to empower the workers and promote gradual functional independence.

    + Ensure safety in every aspect of the program by means of:

    + Reinforcement of rules and regulations re: appropriate verbal and non- verbal behaviors.

    + Ensuring that agency vehicles are in good operating condition.

    + Ensuring the safety of passengers.

    + Demonstrating the proper ways to bend, carry, lift and kneel.

    + Ensuring safe and effective use of chemicals and equipment.

    + Ensure and instruct the proper daily wearing of safety equipment such as- masks, work gloves, safety goggles, work boots etc.

    + Hands-on demonstrations and discussions concerning standard janitorial and groundskeeping procedures.

    + Assisting participants to comprehend the appropriate usage/procedures of chemicals or other products by reading product labels and write specific instructions in form of tasks analysis.

    + Demonstrate how to operate all floor care and groundskeeping equipment safely and professionally.

    + Perform hands-on assistance on any janitorial job sites (show /tell /do /review). Work along with the cleaning crew.

    + Responsible to perform hands-on tasks of stripping and waxing floors, carpet shampooing and burnishing.

    + Responsible to perform hands-on groundskeeping assignment if needed using commercial equipment.

    + Able and willing to learn and demonstrate various types of work skills to program participants.

    + Required to lift/move heavy objects (i.e. load/unload equipment into van/truck; carry heavy supplies/boxes).

    + Required to climb a ladder if necessary (i.e. change a light bulb; clean high surfaces).

    + Provide crisis intervention, work support and counseling as needed.

    + Assess workers’ needs to assure quality of work and job performance of workers.

    + Interface with employers/customers to ensure satisfaction with participant/workers’ performance.

    + Drive work crew to and from various pick-up points and work sites.

    + Responsible for vehicle maintenance reports (gas, repairs) to immediate supervisor.

    + Teach and demonstrate how to maintain on-going inventory of supplies prior to and from job sites.

    + Teach and demonstrate how to safely load and unload vans and store equipment properly.

    + Ensure quality of work, job performance, job satisfaction of employees and employers/customer.

    + Educate participants how to advocate for themselves and how to communicate and respond to employers/customers, co-workers and/or government agencies communications.

    + Provide travel training to participants, if necessary

    + Must be able to drive agency vehicles and travel to various worksites with the use of a map and an address.

    + Must be able to transport self to various facilities to attend and participate in meetings/trainings at various sites that require following different routes and means of travel.

    + Must be able to read labels and retain the information to ensure proper use and safety of chemicals or other products in the workplace.

    + Maintain confidentiality at all times.

    + This does not limit the assignment of duties or exclude the performance of other duties, not mentioned, as assigned by supervisor.

    + Attend staff meetings, daily utilization of computer, e-mail and cell phones to ensure good communication is maintained.

    + Cover any shift days and evenings included.

    + Generate Quality Assurance Reports for multiple sites.

    + Interface with company customers and develop Correction Plans.

    + Meet weekly with immediate supervisor to discuss issues and brainstorm suggestions and solutions.

    + Removing snow by using various hand tools or snow blowers as per contract specifications and as needed to support daily operations.

    + Provide direct support on and off work sites, utilizing transitional techniques to empower the workers and promote gradual functional independence.

    Qualifications

    A high school diploma or GED is required. A varied and successful work history in competitive employment and janitorial maintenance, knowledge of employer expectations of employee performance and workplace behaviors, knowledge of janitorial and grounds keeping procedures and equipment. A minimum two years of experience in providing vocational services to individuals with a history disabilities required. Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License is required. Basic computer literacy is a must.
