    Summary

    The Senior Vice President (SVP) of ecommerce will be responsible for driving the growth and success of our ecommerce initiatives within Freeman. This role will focus on enhancing customer experience, implementing touchless order-to-cash (OTC) processes, and aligning our delivery model with ecommerce best practices. The SVP will also be accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive technology capabilities roadmap in partnership with IT and will have P&L responsibility for scaling the ecommerce business from $250 million to over $1 billion within 2-3 years. Additionally, the SVP will collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Governance Committee (GC) to create and promote the ecommerce strategy and build partnerships with Line of Business (LOB) owners to establish an omnichannel go-to-market path that complements our existing business model.

     

    This position reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

     

    + Develop and execute a comprehensive ecommerce strategy and technology capabilities roadmap in collaboration with the IT department, ensuring timely and successful delivery of ecommerce solutions.

    + Oversee the ecommerce business's financial performance, with a goal of growing revenue from $250 million to over $1 billion within 2-3 years.

    + Increase ecommerce penetration within the Freeman exhibitor floor by identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities.

    + Build and lead an ecommerce team focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences at events, with a strong emphasis on touchless OTC processes.

    + Build and nurture relationships with LOB owners to develop an omnichannel go-to-market strategy that complements and enhances the existing business model.

    + Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure alignment between online offerings and show-site fulfillment capabilities.

    + Partner with supply chain, operations, and customer experience teams to inform online strategies and improve digital-to-physical handoffs.

    + Oversee all aspects of the online exhibitor service platform, including P&L management, user experience, and product catalog.

    + Lead cross-functional teams in product, merchandising, customer experience, and technology to enhance online exhibitor services.

    + Establish KPIs and leverage data analytics to drive continuous improvement in online sales and exhibitor satisfaction.

    + Identify and implement technologies that enhance the online exhibitor experience and facilitate smooth transitions to on-site services.

    + Conduct post-show analyses of online performance and gather insights to improve future digital offerings.

    + Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in B2B ecommerce and exhibition services.

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + Bachelor’s degree required with 20+ years of progressive experience in ecommerce leadership.

    + Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor's degree from a 4 year accredited institution with relevant experience required.

    + Proven track record of scaling B2B ecommerce operations and driving significant revenue growth.

    + Strong understanding of ecommerce technologies, customer experience strategies, and touchless OTC processes.

    + Demonstrated understanding of exhibition industry trends, exhibitor needs, and the interplay between online services and on-site execution.

    + Experience in developing effective partnerships with operational teams in service-oriented industries.

    + Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for improving online services and capabilities.

    + Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.

    + Experience with Salesforce products and other relevant B2B ecommerce technologies.

    + Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing environment typical of the events industry.

    + Strong bias for action and comfort with ambiguity in a high-growth setting.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.

    Travel Requirements

    Travel up to 25%
