    The **Emergency Vehicle Technician** will work on equipment and systems that are unique to emergency vehicles.

    Responsibilities

    + Repair and maintain the specialized equipment found in ambulances, fire truck and other emergency vehicles. Required to complete reports of equipment validation.

    + Engaged in the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and testing of emergency response vehicles IAW Emergency Vehicle Technician II

    + Determines and orders repair parts on each work order.

    + Fabrication of items such as fittings, lines and hoses; repairs to interior/exterior lighting; engine/power train assemblies; air-conditioning and heating systems of vehicles.

    + Conduct special purpose testing to include, but not limited to die-electrical test, component function test, load test, and applicable pressure tests.

    + Install, and remove emergency services and other vehicle communications, lighting systems, decals and markings

    + Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.

    + Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.

    + Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.

    + Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.

    + Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.

    + Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.

    + Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems.

    + Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.

    + Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.

    + Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + High School graduate or GED.

    + Minimum five (5) years of experience as an EVT.

    + Possess and maintain a current Oklahoma Driver’s License.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
