• Lease Administration and Transactions Manager

    Eastern Bank (Lynn, MA)


    The Manager of Lease Administration & Transactions plays a critical role in overseeing the leasing operations of our retail branches, corporate offices, and operational facilities. This position ensures all lease obligations are met, data integrity is maintained, and strategic insights are provided to support the bank’s real estate footprint. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing lease portfolios for a financial institution or similar regulated environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage and lead the lease administration team in the accurate abstraction, entry, and ongoing maintenance of lease data across the bank’s real estate portfolio.

    + Ensure compliance with lease terms for bank-owned and leased retail branches, ATMs, operations centers, and office space.

    + Assist with the negotiation and execution of real estate transactions

    + Monitor critical lease dates (renewals, terminations, options) and coordinate with legal, finance, and facilities teams on timely execution.

    + Oversee rent payments, CAM/tax reconciliations, and ensure proper allocation to cost centers in collaboration with accounting.

    + Support strategic planning by providing reporting and analysis on lease commitments, occupancy costs, and space utilization.

    + Act as liaison between the bank and landlords, brokers, and legal counsel to resolve lease-related issues or disputes.

    + Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory guidelines, and banking-specific real estate compliance standards.

    + Maintain and enhance lease administration systems (e.g., MRI, Lucernex, Visual Lease), identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements.

    + Assist in real estate audits and internal/external reporting related to leases and financial disclosures.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

    + 5+ years of experience in lease administration, with at least 2 years managing a team; banking or financial services experience preferred.

    + Strong understanding of accounting principles related to leasing (ASC 842 experience preferred).

    + Proficiency with lease administration and real estate systems (e.g., MRI, ProLease, Yardi, Lucernex, Visual Lease).

    + Exceptional attention to detail, data accuracy, and organizational skills.

    + Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and present to senior leadership.

    + Positive attitude.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience managing real estate portfolios for a regional or national bank.

    + Working knowledge of lease structures specific to bank branches, ATMs, and office spaces.

    + Familiarity with regulatory considerations for leased premises in the financial services sector.

    + Real Estate License or industry certification (e.g., CLM, FMLI, CCIM) a plus.
