    Position Overview

    Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Space Systems Engineer to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:

    Responsibilities

    + Provides technical oversight and leadership to the SDA ground segment development, testing, integration, and operations effort.

    + Assists with the design verifications and works with the vendor team to implement solutions to support the SDA's mission.

    + Oversees the ground's technical baseline, identifying key architecture and system level trades, developing Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for new capabilities and coordinating them across the affected organizations

    + Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program

    + Develops enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements

    + Coordinates with cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry) and external stakeholders

    + Prepares briefings for senior decision makers.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)

    + Minimum of 10 years' experience with satellite and ground systems

    + Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction

    + Strong experience in requirements development and tracking

    + Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills

    + TS Clearance required. Must be able to obtain/maintain SCI #qinetiqclearedjob

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master's degree in STEM or related discipline
