Title: Assembler

Key Accountabilities:

+ Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists, and verify parts clearances

+ Fasten and install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies

+ Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies

+ Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations

+ Verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers

+ Maintain and lubricate parts and components

+ Assemble systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes

+ Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications

+ Keep Team Leader abreast of progress, developments and pending problems

+ Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

+ Identify and reduce non-value-added work

+ Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in assembly and other production related areas

Basic Requirements:

+ High School Diploma/GED and 2 years in a mechanical, engine or automotive trade school or equivalent associate's degree; or 3 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment.

+ "In order to be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident".

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods

+ Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

+ Basic knowledge of engine control systems, design, assembly and function

+ Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards

+ Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

+ Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees in a team atmosphere

+ Basic ability to interpret control plans, blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts, documents regarding engine assembly and testing and quality requirements (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.)

+ Basic oral and written communication skills

+ Basic reading, writing and math skills

+ Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals and scanning device

+ Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications. Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures

+ Experience in engine control systems, design, function and assembly, including marine applications

+ Ability to obtain appropriate power vehicle license (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary

+ Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
