    About The Position

     

    Seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer with mechanical experience to support our machine shop and manufacturing operations, as well as having some in MRO purchasing and logistical expertise to join our team.

     

    This Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing mechanical materials hardware components, MRO and some production electronic materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with general buying experience and have knowledge logistics, with excellent analytical and negotiation skills. Additionally, the Buyer will support the machine shop operations by ensuring the availability of necessary tools, equipment, and materials.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and evaluate suppliers for mechanical components, tools, and materials. Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure the best value for the company.

    • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing due dates to ensure timely delivery of materials and components, particularly for the machine shop.

    • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and address any issues that may arise.

    • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement strategies.

    • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all purchased materials and components meet the required standards and specifications.

    • Logistical Coordination: Work closely with the shippers and brokers to manage the transportation and delivery of materials, ensuring efficiency and minimizing delays.

    • Machine Shop Support: Ensure the machine shop is adequately stocked with necessary tools, equipment, and materials to maintain smooth operations.

    • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to management.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or 10 years' experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.

    • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on mechanical components, logistics, and machine shop support.

    • Skills:

    • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

    • Knowledge of mechanical components. metals and the logistic processes.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Certifications: Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) are a plus

    Salary Range: Annual USD $65,000-$75,000
