Scholar Culture/Climate Support & Data Analysis
+ Design and implement developmentally appropriate behavior and scholar expectation systems.
+ Lead school culture initiatives, including rituals, celebrations, and incentive programs.
+ Facilitate restorative practices and support students with behavior and social-emotional growth.
+ Collect, analyze, and communicate behavior and SEL data to identify and support Tier 2 and 3 students.
+ Develop and execute individualized behavior plans and interventions.
+ Use needs assessments and educational data to design impactful student programming.
+ Provide resources and referrals to students, families, and staff to support academic and personal development.
Teacher & Leader Development & Support
+ Coach and support teachers in implementing academic and behavioral interventions, including classroom observations, modeling, and side-by-side coaching.
+ Assist in developing educational plans for scholars of concern and participate in student support meetings and parent-teacher conferences.
+ Lead professional development on classroom culture and behavior systems; train and support teachers, culture coordinators, and athletic directors.
+ Conduct school-wide walkthroughs, analyze culture data, and identify priorities and action steps.
+ Support and guide teachers in using Legacy’s behavioral systems and facilitating scholar Circles.
+ Communicate clearly and consistently with all stakeholders, including staff, families, and partners.
Family Relationships & Support
+ Lead conversations with families/guardians about student behavior, support plans, consequences, and behavioral successes.
+ Forge connections between support for students at home and school to establish the most successful environment for students to thrive in.
+ Be responsive to family concerns in a kind, solutions-focused and timely manner.
+ Responsible for family engagement (ex. Leading and planning family nights, developing rituals for family support and celebrations)
+ Collaborates with the school counselor to provide strategy-based workshops to increase socially and emotionally healthy parenting practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Enforce, uphold, and exhibit the school’s values, student management policies, and culture
+ Participate as a hiring team member and support with onboarding and development of new hires
+ Own arrival duty, lunch/recess duty, and dismissal duty
+ Attend family meetings, orientation, staff professional learning sessions, and other school-based events
+ Attend weekly faculty meetings
+ Maintains accurate student records and confidentiality
+ Co-facilitate restorative parent circles with the principal
+ Engage in SEL Data Dives, SEL integration strategies, Professional Development Institute, etc.
+ ie: Response to Intervention, Student to Student Restorative Circles, SEL intervention Data
+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
+ Strong familiarity with education and child welfare policies and best practices and a motivation to continue expanding that knowledge base.
+ Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.
+ Ability and enthusiasm for promoting the school and its mission to a broad and diverse group of people.
+ Excellent teamwork skills and an ability to collaborate closely with colleagues and partners to identify challenges and design and implement solutions.
+ Strong computer skills must be proficient in the use of email, the internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerSchool, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Forms, and be able to apply these skills towards the necessary organization, documentation, and communication requirements of this position.
+ Ability to analyze educational data, testing instruments, and measurement practices
+ Provide individual and group support relating to academic success, understanding of self and others, communication skills, decision making, relationship skills, conflict resolution, and goal setting
+ Develops and provides a variety of materials on education and personal and social development for students, teachers, and parent
+ Uses data gathered from needs assessment to develop programming to positively impact students
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:
+ Specific knowledge of early childhood development
+ Specific knowledge of restorative justice practices
+ Ability to train internal staff
+ Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and exceptional people skills
Knowledge of current educational theories and various teaching methodologies.
+ Set and monitor family engagement and community involvement goals.
+ Coordinate parent involvement services, including meetings, training, and home visits.
+ Communicate respectfully with parents and help staff do the same, considering cultural values.
+ Inform parents of academic and behavioral expectations through various communication methods.
+ Support achieving 95% scholar attendance through tracking, calls, home visits, and incentives.
+ Maintain communication with parents about school events and opportunities.
+ Serve as the liaison for homeless families, ensuring they receive necessary services.
+ Address parent feedback in collaboration with the leadership team.
+ Complete required reports and documentation.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned.
