    Electrical Specialist - Marshall, MN

    Job Summary

    Manages all instrumentation and electrical field installation. Responsible for field construction of new projects and new installations, including oversight of both ADM and contract IE personnel on maintenance, new projects and new installations as the site signing electrical master. Review and coordinate upcoming projects and request purchases for the materials that will be needed. Work with Engineering and ADM COE teams to specify all new instrumentation in the plant to keep maintenance and engineering aligned.

    Essential Job Functions

    + Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all safety equipment, and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.

    + Registered with the MN DLI as the signing Master Electrician for the site.

    + Responsible to set up electrical inspections for all new installations.

    + Work with IE planner on scheduling jobs and managing resources.

    + Manages the installation and insures code compliance for all new installations and any activity that is not like-in-kind repair.

    + Responsible for tracking and maintaining all electrical licenses for ADM IE technicians as well as scheduling continuing education credits as required.

    + Responsible to monitor and maintain transformer operating parameters and spares.

    + Work with local utility to coordinate site power switching procedures, power line repairs, and capacitor bank repairs.

    + Work with vendors and contractors to coordinate annual down day work including switch, breaker and transformer testing and repairs.

    + Included in the Leadership rotation for maintenance/IE on call.

    + Support the site Electrical Safety Committee to keep electrical training materials updated.

    + Determines design parameters with Engineers and specifies instrumentation accordingly ensuring established standards are followed.

    + Ensures proper utilization and installation of junction/termination box design per plant standards.

    + Ensures safety of contractor employees.

    + Develops plans and schedules for all project instrumentation and electrical activity.

    + Establishes workload for contractor labor.

    + Assist in start-up activity to ensure successful project turnover of projects to operations and maintenance.

    + Assists in trouble-shooting problems in the plant as required.

    + Complete all required safety training and follow all safety procedures.

    + May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    + MN Master Electrician License

    + 3 or more years of Leadership experience

    + Advanced computer skills

    + Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills

    + On call as needed for unplanned events and/or emergencies

    Working Conditions

    + Day shift

    + Duties performed inside and outside.

    + May be exposed to extreme temperatures and humid conditions.

    + May perform tasks in tight spaces.

    + Due to the wide variety of tasks in all production areas, this position is exposed to many atmospheres.

    + Hazard exposure: mechanical, electrical, chemical and explosives.

    + Protective Clothing required: hardhat, earplugs, safety glasses, safety-toed shoes/boots, gloves and fire-retardant clothing.

    Physical Requirements

    + Lift or move up to 50 lbs.

    + Lifting may consist of: occasionally carrying tools and replacement parts from Maintenance Shop to Production areas.

    + Position self to conduct work at various heights and positions.

    + Ability to ascend/descend many flights of stairs or ladders.

    + Be on feet walking/moving around as needed during work shift.

    + Occasional use of limbs such as manipulation of levers by hands to operate Maintenance truck along with use of feet to operate pedals for truck, forklift, JLG lifts or other vehicles.

    + Use of hands through fine manipulation in fine-tuning adjustments to monitoring gauges.

    + Speech, vision, smell, touch and hearing all needed senses to communicate effectively, recognize process upsets and identify possible safety threats.

    Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

     

    If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

    The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
