    About the role

     

    Responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing by administering time tracking functions, responding to employee inquiries, and interpreting wage and hour regulations. It serves as the subject matter expert for Workday Time tracking and Payroll, driving system design, configuration, and issue resolution to meet business and compliance needs. Also supports cross-functional projects, system updates, and integrations across Workday modules, including HCM and Adaptive. Additionally, provides reporting support for the Payroll and Financial modules, as well as ad-hoc business needs across the organization.

    Key Accountabilities

    + **Payroll Responsibilities:** Time Tracking Administrator tasks: (i.e., Mass Submit, Mass Advance business processes, and EIB loads). Provides back-up support to the payroll team as needed. Researches and interprets Federal, State and Local regulatory wage and hour compliance requirements. Receives and responds timely to telephone and e-mail inquiries. Interprets payroll policies and procedures to company employees on all levels. Provides high quality service to employees and effectively resolve employee issues.

    + **Workday Time Tracking and Payroll Technical Support:** Enterprise Subject Matter Expert for Payroll and Time Tracking modules of Workday, leading the design and architecture of Time Tracking and Payroll functionality and processes. Provides stakeholders with options for how desired outcomes may be fulfilled through system configuration. Assesses, tests, and implements configuration changes, enhancements, and new functionality based on compliance and internal business needs. Acts as an escalation point to resolve issues, errors, or unexpected behavior in processes or calculations. Assists Director, Payroll with analyzing payroll system enhancement needs to improve efficiency and ensure accurate workflow and data integrations for payroll processing and reporting.

    + **Shared Services Technical Support and Special Projects:** Participates in analysis and testing of bi-annual Workday updates; assists with analysis of downstream impacts for updates in HCM, Financials, Adaptive, etc. Assists with testing and implementing HCM updates, changes, and new Workday feature releases. Acts as an Adaptive System Administrator and assists Forecasting, Planning & Analysis team with Workday related questions, changes, or issues.

    + **Workday Reporting Technical Support** : Supports the build and maintenance of Workday reports needed for Workday Time Tracking, Payroll, HFIT Client Billing, and Financial modules (i.e., FINS, Adaptive, Expenses, Suppliers, Procurement, and Billing). Provides recurring annual reporting data for OSHA, FLSA, and other Federal, State and Local compliance requirements. Supports and fulfills ad-hoc reporting requests based on business requirements related to Time Tracking, Payroll, HFIT Client Billing, and all financial areas (see modules above). Assists with general reporting requests and support other Workday report writers across the enterprise.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor's Degree and/or 4 - 6 years of equivalent experience.

    + Knowledge of wage and hour compliance (Federal, State, and Local).

    + 2+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll and Time Tracking experience.

    + Experience with Workday EIBs, Mass Submit, and Mass Advance processes.

    + Exposure to building and running Workday reports (custom reports, dashboards, calculated fields).

    + Familiarity with compliance-related payroll reporting (e.g., OSHA, FLSA).

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Clear communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and stakeholders at all levels.

    + Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    Preferred:

    + 5+ years of Workday experience, including Payroll, Time Tracking, and Financials.

    + Workday Financials report writing experience, including Composite Reporting.

    + Prior experience acting as a system subject matter expert or functional lead in Workday Time Tracking or Payroll implementations or updates.

    + Experience participating in Workday bi-annual release testing, including downstream impact assessments across HCM, Financials, and Adaptive Planning.

    + Familiarity with shared services models and cross-functional support roles.

    + Adaptive planning system admin experience or exposure to financial forecasting tools.

    The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):

    $79,292.00 - $114,533.00 per year

     

    The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
