ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
RiseBoro’s IT Department is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Yardi Voyager Affordable Housing initiatives. This role focuses on system strategy, design, and optimization to ensure compliance and efficiency across all affordable housing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ System Strategy, Design & Optimization
+ Serve as the primary expert on Yardi Voyager Affordable Housing modules, guiding best practices for HUD 50059, LIHTC, AMI, HOME, NY DHCR, Section 8, and other affordable programs.
+ Lead the configuration and optimization of set-asides, income limits, rent schedules, utility allowances, compliance reporting, and subsidy management within Yardi.
+ Collaborate with Finance to enhance operations in Yardi Core and PayScan modules.
+ Partner with Collections to streamline processes within Yardi Voyager.
+ Design and implement custom Yardi functionalities, menu sets, and reports to enhance usability and ensure compliance.
+ Oversee the development and management of Rent Cafe, including tenant portals.
+ Work with Housing Development and Finance teams to set up new affordable properties and workflows in Yardi, adhering to federal and New York State guidelines.
+ Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all affordable housing operations.
+ Advanced Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
+ Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including compliance calculation errors and reporting discrepancies.
+ Act as the primary contact for Yardi Support and external consultants, managing escalations for technical and compliance challenges.
+ Provide root cause analysis and long-term solutions for recurring system issues.
+ System Integrations & Automation
+ Collaborate on integrating Yardi with third-party applications, such as accounting systems and compliance tracking tools.
+ Enhance APIs, data imports/exports, and automated workflows to ensure seamless interoperability between Yardi and other applications.
+ Design custom automated solutions for complex compliance reporting and operational needs.
+ Work with teams to automate leasing processes, including specialized affordable and preferential rent leases.
+ Assist in system testing and validation for Yardi upgrades, ensuring new releases meet business and compliance requirements.
+ Support strategic IT and data initiatives, contributing to long-term digital transformation efforts.
+ Reporting, Compliance & Data Analytics
+ Develop custom financial, operational, and compliance reports using SQL, Yardi YSR, and Excel-based tools.
+ Conduct data audits and compliance reviews to proactively identify and resolve regulatory issues.
+ Collaborate with compliance teams to support annual certifications, recertifications, and audits, ensuring data accuracy.
+ Training, Documentation & Advisory Support
+ Provide training and guidance to property management, compliance, and finance teams on Yardi functionalities and best practices.
+ Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, system documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
+ Advise senior leadership on system upgrades, software investments, and process improvements.
+ Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and Yardi enhancements to ensure the organization leverages the latest capabilities and remains compliant.
COMPETENCIES
+ Expert-level experience with Yardi Voyager Affordable Housing Module, including knowledge of HUD 50059, LIHTC, AMI, HOME, and Section 8 workflows.
+ Thorough understanding of NYS and NYC Affordable Housing, including NY DHCR, NYS PHL 610, and CityFHEPS.
+ Strong knowledge of Yardi core financial functions, emphasizing workflows, accounts payable, general and tenant ledger administration, and collections.
+ Advanced system administration and configuration expertise, including menu set creation, security settings, custom workflows, and process automation.
+ Proficient in problem-solving complex technical and compliance-related Yardi issues.
+ Experience with SQL queries, report development, and data analysis, with the ability to validate and interpret system data.
+ Ability to design, test, and implement integrations between Yardi and external applications.
+ Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance reporting, with experience in audit preparation.
+ Strong project management skills, capable of leading system enhancements, integrations, and process optimizations.
+ Excellent communication skills, translating technical concepts into business-friendly language for end-users and executives.
+ Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple high-priority projects, and collaborate across departments.
+ Competency in reporting tools, such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCEE
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
+ 8+ years of experience working with Yardi Voyager (7s or 8), Rent Café, Yardi Core, and PayScan modules; with a focus on affordable housing compliance, system administration, and technical support required
+ Documented experience leading affordable projects inside Yardi; including setup, maintenance, and business process improvements centered in affordable management required
+ Prior experience in a Yardi Consultant or Yardi Specialist in Affordable preferred; experience working with the NY Module in these roles is highly preferred.
+ Experience leading Yardi system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements utilizing a strong foundation in the Yardi suite of products for housing and financial management.
+ Strong experience in SQL, data validation, and reporting tools for compliance and financial analysis a plus
