Produces machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) or manual machine (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, and other specialized CNC and manual machines).

What You Will Do

+ Complete complex setups on 3-5 axis machines, apply advanced blue print and GD&T reading to complex production inspection processes

+ Edit programs and write simple programs to make tooling

+ Ensure adherence to routed hours and target efficiencies for production

+ Ensure all manufacturing safety and regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times

+ Be an active resource in time studies to analyze processes and validate recommended process changes

+ Machine prototype parts on request

+ Provide training for other operators when required

+ Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) and part drawings

+ Test cut / dry run CNC programs prior to production runs

+ Actively champion and maintain a culture of 5S (Sort, Set and Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) in the machine shop

+ Read and interpret blueprints in both imperial and metric standards.

Qualifications You Must Have

+ Typically requires Technical degree or certification in Tool and Die or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 7 year of relevant experience

+ Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

+ At least 5 years of experience in low volume – high mix production;

+ 5-7 chine tools in a fast paced work environment including;

+ At least 7 years of CNC machining experience;

+ At least 5 years of manual machining experience.
